Yoga for Any Body . . .

Why yoga? The benefits of practicing yoga have been proven for thousands of years. Modern western culture is beginning to discover what has been known in India for thousands of years. Yoga is more than just a physical practice. It is a science of the mind. The body is our tool. The breath is our link between the body and the mind. As goes the body, so too the breath and the mind. As goes the breath, so too goes the mind. The harmonious integration of these disctint parts is Yoga.

If you can breathe, you can do yoga. Regardless of (dis)abilities, yoga is accessible to anyone. As a Yoga teacher, I strive to bring yoga to populations that are often overlooked in "popular" yoga: seniors, veterans, people in wheel chairs, and people who are visually impared. All these people are capable of doing yoga, moving their bodies, controlling their breath and receiving the same benefits of yoga that more vigorous practices offer.

We all start from our current level of abilities. As we practice, we may (re-)gain lost abilities or gain new ones. Throughout our journey, we practice with others--one of the best parts of the practice.

What is YOGA?
